چکیده

Target Audience: Clinicians and researchers working with dynamic Contrast Enhanced MRA (CE-MRA). Purpose: Dynamic Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA) has become a widely accepted tool for clinical evaluation of complex vascular hemodynamics. To allow for high spatial and temporal resolution, view-sharing techniques 1,2 are commonly used whereby the k-space center is updated more frequently than the periphery. However view-sharing elongates the long temporal footprint of images, which can lead to temporal and spatial blurring. In this work, we aim to study the temporal and spatial blurring effect of view-sharing on dynamic CE-MRA using phantom and in vivo data and its impact on the assessment of blood vessels. Furthermore we propose to reduce artifacts and improve the accuracy of dynamic CE-MRA by limiting the use of view-sharing and reconstruct under-sampled kspaces with compressed sensing 3–5 (CS).

Accelerating Magnetic Resonance Imaging through Compressed Sensing Theory in the Direction space-k

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a noninvasive imaging method widely used in medical diagnosis. Data in MRI are obtained line-by-line within the K-space, where there are usually a great number of such lines. For this reason, magnetic resonance imaging is slow. MRI can be accelerated through several methods such as parallel imaging and compressed sensing, where a fraction of the K-space lines...

High spatial and temporal resolution dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance angiography (CE-MRA) using compressed sensing with magnitude image subtraction

PURPOSE We propose a compressed-sensing (CS) technique based on magnitude image subtraction for high spatial and temporal resolution dynamic contrast-enhanced MR angiography (CE-MRA). METHODS Our technique integrates the magnitude difference image into the CS reconstruction to promote subtraction sparsity. Fully sampled Cartesian 3D CE-MRA datasets from 6 volunteers were retrospectively under...

Effect of Bias in Contrast Agent Concentration Measurement on Estimated Pharmacokinetic Parameters in Brain Dynamic Contrast-Enhanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging Studies

Introduction: Pharmacokinetic (PK) modeling of dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) is widely applied in tumor diagnosis and treatment evaluation. Precision analysis of the estimated PK parameters is essential when they are used as a measure for therapy evaluation or treatment planning. In this study, the accuracy of PK parameters in brain DCE...

Improved dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance angiography (CE-MRA) using iterative data reconstruction

Background CE-MRA following the injection of a gadolinium-based contrast agent (GBCA) bolus is widely used in clinical assessment of vascular dynamics and tissue perfusion (1,2). Although keyhole techniques with an increased number of central k-space updates further improved contrast kinetics information, spatial resolution remains limited. Alternatively applied view sharing approaches also res...

Interleaved Variable Density Sampling with ARC Parallel Imaging and Cartesian HYPR for Dynamic MR Angiography

INTRODUCTION For MR applications such as contrast-enhanced MR angiography (CE-MRA), it is desirable to simultaneously achieve high spatial and temporal resolutions; however fully-sampled Cartesian acquisition of large matrices is time consuming. View sharing combined with parallel imaging (PI) improves temporal resolution [1], as does incoherent under-sampling with compressed sensing (CS) [2] o...
